Migrating your company data from Sage Accounting to Sage 50 Accounting.

Pre-requisites
- Get a Sage 50 CT subscription separate from Sage Accounting
- Install the latest version of Sage 50
- Activate Sage 50 with a Sage 50 CT subscription or SAN membership
- Sage 50 must not be in trial mode

How to integrate
Preliminary setup in Sage 50 Accounting
- Log in to your Sage account. Go to mysageone.ca.sageone.com.

Create a new Sage 50 file if one doesn’t exist.
- Select a default generic chart of accounts.

Go to Setup, User Preferences, View, and enable Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Inventory.
- Create an expense account named "Opening Balances Control Account" using a new 5000 series number.

Go to Setup, Settings, Inventory, Options, and clear Allow inventory levels to go below zero.
- In Sage Accounting, go to Settings, Opening Balances, General Ledger.

Use the listed date as the Fiscal Year End in Sage 50.

Set the Fiscal Start date to a prior year or confirm with an accountant.

Set all Stock Items expense accounts to Cost of Goods.
- Don’t use an inventory asset account.
- Change items to Non-Stock if no transactions exist.
- Create a Sage 50 backup named "Sage Accounting Integration" with the company name and date.
CAUTION:
Don’t restore backups, disconnect the integration, or run the wizard again after this point.
Follow the Sage 50 integration wizard to finish the setup
- Log in as sysadmin in Single-User mode and close other windows.
- Create a backup if you haven’t completed one.
- Go to File, Sage Accounting, Set up Connection.
- Sign in with your Sage account email.
- Click Allow in the authorization window.
- Select your Sage Accounting company from the list.
- Choose Auto Setup.
- Click Start.
- Click Finish after the success message appears.
Downloading Sage Accounting transactions
- Go to Setup, Settings, Company, Information, Current Year Dates.
- Set the download period.
- Go to File, Sage Accounting, Download Transactions.
- Run Start Connection Wizard if mapping errors appear.
- Configure linked accounts.
- Leave Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable unmapped.
- Compare Sage 50 financials with Sage Accounting.
- Repeat downloads until you import all transactions.
- Confirm the system displays Download Complete.
- Click OK.
