| Resolution | Disable the firewall and antivirus - Turn off the antivirus and firewall on the server.
- Verify that the data file opens.
- If the file opens contact a computer technician to allow 50 through the firewall and antivirus.
Restart the computer - Reboot the computer where you've located the file.
- Try opening the file again.
Move the data file to the local computer - Copy the data file from the server to your local computer.
- Open the company file from the local computer.
- If the file doesn't open, restore the latest backup to the server.
- If the file opens, close the company file.
- Reboot the server.
- Move the data file back to the server and replace the old file that wan't opening.
- Delete the data file copy from the local computer.
End Sage 50 processes in the Task Manager - Close all instances of Sage 50 Accounting on all machines.
- Open the Task Manager on the computer that stores the data.
- You can do so by holding the Ctrl + Alt + Del keys and then selecting Task Manager
- Click the Processes tab.
- Select the checkbox that states Show processes from all users.
- Find the mysqld.exe process and click End Process.
- Locate the company file and open the SAJ folder.
- Delete the process.pid file.
Ensure the file isn't in single-user mode - Check that the company isn't already open on the Task Bar.
- Verify if other users have opened the company in single-user mode.
- Locate the machine that has opened in single-user mode and go to File, Switch to Multi-User Mode
