How to restore from a backup

Resolution
  1. Open Sage 50.
  2. On the Welcome screen select Restore from backup, then OK.
    • If you don't see a Welcome screen, open any Sage 50 file or the sample company
      • Go to File, Restore
  3. When the Restore from Backup wizard appears, select Next.
    • If you store your backup on an external storage, connect to it and click Next
  4. Select Browse, then select your backup file and Open.
  5. Select Next, and Next again.
  6. Select Browse and go to where you want to save the file.
    •  We recommend saving the new file on a local folder on the C:\\ drive
    • In 2025.0+ you can select:
      • Active Company: Select this option if you only have one company name and don’t need duplicate files
      • Test Company: Used to test features, fixes or solutions only
      • Read-Only company: You can't modify or post to this version of a file 
  7. Enter a name for the new file and click Save.
     NOTE: Don't overwrite an existing file. Save the new file under a new name instead.
  8. Select Next, then Finish.
