| How to restore from a backup |
Resolution | - Open Sage 50.
- On the Welcome screen select Restore from backup, then OK.
- If you don't see a Welcome screen, open any Sage 50 file or the sample company
- When the Restore from Backup wizard appears, select Next.
- If you store your backup on an external storage, connect to it and click Next
- Select Browse, then select your backup file and Open.
- Select Next, and Next again.
- Select Browse and go to where you want to save the file.
- We recommend saving the new file on a local folder on the C:\\ drive
- In 2025.0+ you can select:
- Active Company: Select this option if you only have one company name and don’t need duplicate files
- Test Company: Used to test features, fixes or solutions only
- Read-Only company: You can't modify or post to this version of a file
- Enter a name for the new file and click Save.
NOTE: Don't overwrite an existing file. Save the new file under a new name instead. - Select Next, then Finish.
