How to move company files from one computer to another

How to migrate a Sage 50 Accounting company file from one computer or server to another.

Use a memory stick

1. Create a backup of your data.
2. Select the memory stick location, type a File Name, and then Save.
3. After the backup is complete, close Sage 50 and disconnect the memory stick.
4. Insert the memory stick into the other computer.
5. Open Sage 50.
6. Restore your data.

Remote Data Access

1. Go to the computer where you have the data file and share a company file using Remote Data Access (RDA).
2. Add yourself as a new user to a company if needed.
3. Go to the computer where you want to move the data file and download a Remote Data Access (RDA) company file.
   

Share the data over a network

1. Set up a shared folder.
2. Transfer the file over the network connection from the old computer to the new computer.
