| How to download a Remote Data Access (RDA) company file |
Resolution | - Install the latest version of Sage 50 on the computer where you work on your file.
- The sysadmin has to add you as a user in the file that you're downloading.
- Open Sage 50.
- Select Connect to a shared company and OK on the Welcome window.
- If you use the Accountant Edition and the Select Company window doesn’t appear, go to C:\Users\Public\Documents\Simply Accounting\20xx\Samdata\Enterprise\Universl.SAI
- Double-click Universl.SAI to open the sample company
- Go to File, Connect to a Shared Company
- Log in to your Sage account.
- Click Create Account and follow the wizard if you don't have a Sage account
- Use the same email address that the sysadmin used to send you the invite
- Find your username and email address in Setup, Set Up Users on the sysadmin's copy of the file
- Select the company you want to access in the Shared Companies window.
- Click Connect to open the Save As window.
- Update the location and file name and click Save to begin the download. For best results, download the file to a folder on C:\\.
NOTE: Don't redownload the file each time you want to access the data. You can access it anytime from the C drive or by selecting Open the last company you worked on the Welcome Window.
