How to download a Remote Data Access (RDA) company file

Resolution
  1. Install the latest version of Sage 50 on the computer where you work on your file.
  2. The sysadmin has to add you as a user in the file that you're downloading.
  3. Open Sage 50.
  4. Select Connect to a shared company and OK on the Welcome window.
    • If you use the Accountant Edition and the Select Company window doesn’t appear, go to C:\Users\Public\Documents\Simply Accounting\20xx\Samdata\Enterprise\Universl.SAI
      • Double-click Universl.SAI to open the sample company
      • Go to File, Connect to a Shared Company
        Sage 50 Welcome screen.
  5. Log in to your Sage account.
    • Click Create Account and follow the wizard if you don't have a Sage account
    • Use the same email address that the sysadmin used to send you the invite
    • Find your username and email address in Setup, Set Up Users on the sysadmin's copy of the file 
  6. Select the company you want to access in the Shared Companies window.
  7. Click Connect to open the Save As window.
  8. Update the location and file name and click Save to begin the download. For best results, download the file to a folder on C:\\.

 NOTE: Don't redownload the file each time you want to access the data. You can access it anytime from the C drive or by selecting Open the last company you worked on the Welcome Window.
