Error: "A company file with the same ID is currently being shared"

1. Go to File, Connect to a Shared Company.
2. If prompted, log in with your Sage account email address.
3. If the company you were trying to share is on the Shared Company list, select it, and click Connect.
   • If you don’t see your company on the list, use the option to save a copy
4. In the file location window, change the file name to prevent overwriting an existing company file.
    EXAMPLE: ABC123COPY.SAI.
5. Once the shared file is open, go to File, Remote Data Access, and click Stop Sharing.
    NOTE: Ensure you're the file owner and you're logged in with your Sage account email. 
6. Once this file is no longer shared, close it and reopen the other copy that you couldn’t share previously.
7. Share the company file by going to File, Remote Data Access, Share Company.

Save a Copy

1. Go to File, Save a Copy.
2. Save a copy of the file with a new name.
3. Go to Setup, Settings, Company, Information, and change the company name to something different.
4. Try to share the file again with Remote Data Access.

The error comes up after doing an update

1. Restore a backup from before converting the company file.
2. Click Browse to change the name or location you’re restoring to.
3. This will allow you to keep the old file. You can run reports for any transactions that you’ll be re-entering into the restored file.
4. Click Start to convert the company file.
5. Once the file is open, go to File, Remote Data Access, Share Company.
