| | How to be invited to a client's subscription |
| Description | Use Invitations to access your client's SBC Accounting or Sage 50 products and take ownership of SBC product subscriptions. NOTE: If your client pays for their subscriptions, they can invite you to access their products, using the steps below. If you pay for the subscription instead, you'll need to invite the client to your subscription.

| Resolution | Get invited to access client-paid subscriptionsThere’s some flexibility about how to access a subscription your client is paying for. This is a suggested procedure. Request an invitation from your clientIn Client Management, select Operations, then Invitations. From Accountant access, select Find out how to request invitations. A help panel will open with instructions on how to request access to your client’s products. - Accessing Sage Accounting products:
- Copy the unique link to forward to your client.
- Ask your client to open the link and log in.
- They can then invite you to access their Sage Accounting data.
- Alternatively, you can copy and forward your unique Accountant ID for your client to input.
- Accessing Sage 50 products:
- Copy the Accountant ID.
- In your copy of Sage 50, select Connected services, then Sage Client Management.
- Paste in your unique Accountant ID.
- For Remote Data Access, use an Accountant or Bookkeeper user type that can create or manage users.
How your client invites youIf you sent the special collaboration linkHave your client select the link. This will take them to the Invite accountant page. Your client will select Next, add permissions. From the Product dropdown list, your client will specify which product you’ll have access to. From the Role dropdown list, have your client choose Full Access. Your client will select Next, confirm invite then Yes, send invitation.
If you sent your accountant IDFrom the main navigation bar, have your client choose Manage business account then Invite Accountant. Have your client select the Invite them using Accountant ID or check the status of your invitation link. Your client will select Invite an accountant. In the Accountant ID box, they’ll enter the Accountant ID you provided, then select Check. If the Accountant ID is valid, your practice name will be displayed. If your practice name isn't displayed, check with your client that you've provided the correct code and that they've entered it correctly. Your client will select Next, add permissions. From the Product dropdown list, your client will specify which product you'll have access to. - From the Role dropdown list, have your client choose Full Access.
Your client will select Next, confirm invite then Yes, send invitation.
You'll receive the invitation and can accept it. Your client can continue working as normal. |
