▼1. Why is Sage BusinessVision (BV) being retired?

After thorough consideration and strategic planning, Sage has decided to retire all editions of Sage BV, effective December 31, 2026.

▼2. What does End of Life (EOL) mean for my business?

After December 31, 2026, Sage will no longer provide:

  • Software updates
  • Fixes
  • Security patches
  • Technical support

You may continue using Sage BV at your discretion. Compatibility and security risks will increase over time.

▼3. Will my Sage BV software stop working after EOL?

Your Sage BV software will continue to run on supported operating systems. However, as operating systems evolve, Sage BV may become incompatible, and Sage will not provide updates or support.

▼4. Will there be any further Sage BV updates?

Yes, final updates in 2026:

  • January 2026 payroll update (BV 2023) has already been released.
  • Payroll: Targeting late June 2026 payroll update and year-end update in November/December 2026 for T4/T5018 reporting.

After December 31, 2026, there will be no further payroll calculations, compliance or software updates.

▼5. What  are my Sage migration options?

Sage provides guidance and resources to help you evaluate the best solution for your business needs. Customers can transition to Sage 50 CA for most small businesses and Sage 300 for larger or more complex organizations.

  • Migration tools are available for Sage 300.
  • Sage 50 CA, data lists (such as customers, vendors, employees, inventory, jobs, and accounts) can be exported and imported: however, transaction migration is limited.

▼7. Will there be migration assistance?

▼9. What happens to my data after EOL?

You retain access to your Sage BV data. Sage recommends regular backups and exporting your lists before migration.

Sage will share updates by email. Please ensure that your account contact details are current to receive communications. You can update your profile on the Sage Customer Portal.

▼11. Are there any risks of continuing to use Sage BV after EOL?

As Sage BV will no longer be supported with payroll or software updates after EOL, continued usage may pose compliance and technical risks. Sage will not be responsible for any issues, losses, damages, or compliance failures resulting from continued use of Sage BV after the EOL date.

▼12. What if I need more time to transition?

You can continue to use their Sage BV software after EOL, but there will no longer be support, software updates, and payroll updates available after December 31, 2026.

▼13. What if I have integrations or Independent Software Vendor (ISV) solutions tied to Sage BV?

Some integrations may not be supported in Sage 50 CA or Sage 300. Customers with ISV solutions should consult with Sage or their partners to assess compatibility and migration options.

Business Care plans and renewals will be prorated to align with the EOL date.

▼16. What should I do if I experience technical issues after EOL?

As Sage BV support will no longer be available after December 31, 2026, you may need to reach out to a certified Sage Partner who provides Sage BV support or another third-party provider.
