Uninstall Sage 50 Accounting to remove older versions. This can also resolve subscription issues caused by errors, expired trial versions, or red Xs on icons when modifying a subscription.
Basic Uninstall
- Back up your Sage 50 data.
- Go to Windows Start menu and search for Control Panel.
- Open the Control Panel and select Programs and Features.
- Locate Sage 50 Accounting Version and click Uninstall.
- Restart the computer.
Advanced Uninstall
- Complete steps 1 through 4 from the Basic Uninstall section above.
- Uninstall both MySQL OBDC connectors.

- Go to Windows Explorer > C:\Program Files (x86).
- Delete or rename the Sage 50 Edition Version folder.
- The folder can be: "Pro", "Premium", "Quantum" or "Accountant"
- Delete or rename the Winsim folder.
- Go to Documents.
- Back up the Simply Accounting\Backups folder to an external drive.

- Delete or rename all Sage Software and Simply Accounting folders.
- Go to C:\Users\Public\Public Documents.
- Delete or rename all Sage Software and Simply Accounting folders.
- In the Windows Search, type Regedit to open the Registry Editor.
- Back up the registry.
- Locate the registry keys, then manually remove Sage 50 Accounting from the Windows Registry.
- Restart the computer.
- Visit the Sage 50 Download Portal if you need to reinstall the latest version of Sage 50 Accounting.
