Summary

Error: "Your service plan has expired" when starting Sage 50 Accounting.

Resolution

Verify the account ID and serial number

  1. Ensure you have internet access.
  2. Ignore the Expiry Notice window by clicking OK.
  3. Open the sample company.
  4. Click Help, Upgrade your Sage 50 product.
  5. Verify the Account ID starts with 400 and is your account ID.
  6. Verify that the serial number is the latest one provided by Sage at the Customer Portal.
  7. Change the serial number and/or account ID if there’s a difference.
  8. Select Retrieve my Key Code from Sage 50 online.
  9. Click OK.

Check the firewall and antivirus settings

  1. Set up your firewall for Sage 50 connectivity and try again.
  2. Turn off your antivirus and all its security options and try again.
  3. Try the activation again.

The program is active on one computer but a second computer still has an error message

  1. Do a complete uninstall of Sage 50.
  2. Reinstall Sage 50.
  3. Verify that you can open the program and activate without issues.

Scan the system for malware/adware

  1. Have an IT technician scan your computer for malware and adware.
  2. Verify that you can open the program and activate without issues.
