Cause

- Conflicts with another program
- Data corruption
- Firewall and anti virus
Resolution

Section 1: Data located on a server
- Disable Firewall and Anti-virus on both server and local.
- Try to open data file again. If it data is not opening, proceed to the next step.
- Move the data locally and try to open it. If it opens locally, then it is a network related issue.
Section 2: Data is local
- Close all the unnecessary Windows.
- Try to disable the Firewall and Anti-virus then try to open file. If the data is not opening, proceed to the next step.
- Try opening the sample company locally. If the sample company will not open continue to the next step.
Note: If the sample company does not open, it is likely a program issue.
- Uninstall and reinstall the Sage 50.
- If the sample company opens, try restoring from a backup, follow the article: How to restore from a backup
- If uninstalling and reinstalling did not fix the issue. Contact a PC Technicatian to repair the operating system
Section 3: Different Windows User profile
- If sample doesn't open after reinstall, try login to another Windows User profile.
Note: you could also install it on another computer.
