Summary
Each time I start Sage 50 or open my company file, I have to tick “I’m not a robot” and complete a captcha.
Cause
- This is a security procedure triggered by the Invoice Payments feature
Resolution
- As long as you have not completed the entire Invoice Payments security procedure, the captcha will keep reappearing every time you open the company file or try to send an email.
- Activating Invoice Payments is a one-time thing and if done, the captcha will not reappear. Make sure you completed the whole process: captcha + code in Option 2 below
- The code is sent to the email address set up for the sysadmin user - Be sure to check the correct email inbox
Option 1: I don't want to connect Invoice Payments right now
- When Sage 50 starts click the X button in the Captcha / code windows.
- Follow Option 2: below to prevent the Captcha prompts in the future.
Option 2: Invoice Payments is not yet onboarded
- Click I’m not a robot.
- Complete the image Captcha.
- Go to your inbox and open the message entitled “Code Request from your Sage product”. This is a message from [email protected] sent to the sysadmin’s email address.
- Click the link in the message to open the web page at https://money.sage.com/#/refresh.
- Copy the 64 characters-long code and paste it in the Sage 50 window that says: “Enter the code below and then click OK to continue.”
- You will get a message saying: “Success! Connection to Invoice Payments has been re-established. Click OK to continue”.

Option 3: Invoice Payments is already onboarded
- If you activated the Invoice Payments feature by mistake (you do not download receipts from Paypal / Stripe in Sage 50), then disable it to get rid of the captcha:
- In Setup / Settings / Receivables / Invoice Payments, untick Automatically download payments when the company opens
- Before emailing, untick Include Pay Now option in the email to accept online payments
I don’t receive the email containing the security code to set up Paypal / Stripe invoice payments in Sage 50
