How to stop sharing a company file through Remote Data Access (RDA)

1. Open the shared company file as sysadmin, in single user mode.
   • If the data owner can't access the file, try downloading the file
2. Go to File, Remote Data Access, Stop Sharing.
3. Select Yes to confirm your wish to stop sharing the company file.
   • This removes the company from Remote Data Access
   • The unshared copy of the company file remains on the machine where sharing was stopped
   • All other copies of the shared file will display a message that the file owner has stopped sharing it and won’t open
4. OK when prompted that the company file is no longer shared.

Additional Information 

• The data owner is the only user who can stop sharing a Remote Data Access company
• If you have lost access to sysadmin, contact Sage 50 support to reset the RDA security
• If you can't download or open the file in Sage 50, you won't be able to stop sharing. The file will stay orphaned in the Cloud and will keep appearing in the list
