Summary

There are various reasons you receive the error "Another user...is currently accessing this company... logging into a Sage 50 Accounting company using Remote Data Access. Follow the options below to troubleshoot and resolve the error.

Resolution

Verify username and Sage account email for everyone

  1. Go to File, Remote Data Access, Set Up users.
  2. Add the required users (create one username for the number of computers that will access the Sage 50 data remotely).
  3. Change the Sage ID you’re currently logged in with.

Each computer has their own Sage account email address

  1. On the Welcome Screen, select Connect to a shared company file.
    • if you’re already in a company file, click File, Connect to a shared company
  2. If prompted, enter the correct Sage account email address.
    • If not prompted, click OK to go to the next window 
    • Confirm that the displayed email is the correct email address for this computer
    • If not, click Log in as a different user and enter the correct email address
  3. Try re-downloading the file again.

Another user opened the company in single-user mode

  1. Contact all remote users and ask them to log out of Sage 50.
  2. Try logging back into Sage 50.

The file is in a cloud-synchronized folder

  1. Ensure you don't sync your files to a cloud service.
  2. If the file is in a cloud-synced folder, create a new folder on the C:\
  3. Move the SAJ folder and SAI file to the new folder.

End processes

  1. Go into the Windows Task Manager.
  2. Stop the Connection Manager.
  3. End all mysql and Sage 50 Connection Manager (SimplyConnectionManager.exe) processes.
  4. Reopen the Sage 50 Connection Manager from the Windows Start menu and start the service again.
  5. Restart Sage 50.

Redownload attempt

  1. Redownload the RDA file to a different file name onto a folder on the local C:\ drive.
  2. If you can get into the file in Read-only mode, exit the file for 2 minutes and re-open the original file.
  3. Delete the redownloaded file.

Sage account email address recently in the file without issues

  1. Open the shared file with the Sage account email address listed in the error message.  
  2. Go to Setup, Settings, Company, Backup.
  3. Remove the checkmarks in front of Automatically back up this file and Display a backup reminder.
  4. Close the file and log back in with your regular Sage account email address.
  5. From now on, do manual backups.
