Consider the scenario where you do work for a company called Imagine Microsystems. You’ll also do the personal tax returns for the directors Isabella Brown and Amelia Thomas. A client folder lets you group the company with the directors so they appear together in the client list. 
What's the difference between a client and a contact? In Client Management: -
Clients are individuals or organizations that you do work for. You can add subscriptions like Sage Accounting to a client. Select the Clients tab to view the client list. -
Contacts are quick references that include basic details like phone numbers and addresses. You can’t add subscriptions to a contact. Select the Contacts tab to view the contact list. Find a client in the listYou can find a specific client by using the search tool. You can search from the Folder view or List view. The only difference is how these lists display the results. -
Select the Clients tab. -
Choose the Folder view or List view. -
In the search box, enter a search term. -
Select the magnifying glass icon or press Enter to search. NOTE:
- Expand the client folders while searching on folder view, if your search matches a client.
- Check the Client folder column while searching on the list view, if your search matches a client folder.
Filter the listFiltering the client list is another way to help you find 1 or more clients. -
Select the Clients tab. -
Select Filter. -
You can add filters based on: -
Product - Only shows results based on a specific product -
Type - Only shows clients of a certain type. Use this for finding all partnerships or companies, for example -
Country - Only shows clients based in a certain country -
Financial year end - Only shows clients with specific financial year ends -
You can add other filters as necessary to refine your search. -
Select Apply to see the results of your filters. If you don’t get the results you expect, consider changing your filters or try using the search option instead. Where are my contacts in the Clients list?Client Management lists contacts separately, to avoid clutter and keep the Clients list focused on people and groups that you actually do work for. To view your contacts, select the Contacts tab. 
Hide clients On the Clients list you can hide clients. Hiding a client doesn’t delete the client’s data. -
Select the Clients tab. -
Choose the client you want to hide. -
Select Actions on the row of the client you want to hide. -
Select Hide from client list.
 TIP: If you want to view hidden clients, tick Include hidden clients in the list.  Rename a client folder When you first add a client, the program automatically creates a client folder for them. You can change this to something more meaningful. -
Select the Clients tab. -
Select Folder view. -
Select Actions on the row of the client folder you want to rename. -
Select Edit details. -
Name your client folder. -
Select Save. |
