| Resolution | Prerequisites - A file-server network or peer-to-peer network
- Purchase a multi-user edition of Sage 50 Accounting
NOTE: Multi-user mode is only available in Premium and higher editions. The feature isn't available in Pro. - Ensure all computers meet the minimum requirements
- If using multi-user mode with Remote Data Access (RDA), set up your users with Remote Data Access (RDA)
Install Sage 50 Accounting - Install Sage 50 Accounting on all computers that will be using it.
- Activate Sage 50 with the new serial number if you just purchased a multi-user version.
- Create a new folder on the C drive of the computer where you’ll store the data.
- Share the folder and give permission to all users who need to access the folder.
- Save your company data file in the new folder.
- Open Sage 50 Accounting
- Go to File, Save as
- Locate the new folder created in Step 3
- Change the file name, and Save
Set up Users and add sysadmin password Switch to Multi-user Mode - Go to File, Switch to Multi-user Mode
Open the file from other computers - Log in to Sage 50 Accounting on the workstation and choose Select an existing company.
- Browse to the computer that stores the data and select the file you saved in the new folder.
- Select Open.
- Log in as the new user.
- Open the file in multi-user mode.
