Resolution | NOTE: Sage Expert Services offers a form customization service at an extra charge.
Change the form settings to use a custom form
- Log in to Sage 50 as sysadmin.
- Go to Setup, Reports & Forms.
- Select the type of form you want to modify.
- Select Custom Forms radio button.
- Set the Form Type to Sage 50 Form.
- In the Description, select the User-defined form.
- Your custom form displays in the Form: field.
NOTE: Click Browse to select a different custom form.
- Select the Customize Form button.
- If you don't have a custom form, select Create new form from template radio button, and OK.
Customize a form in the Sage 50 Forms Designer
- To add text, select the ABC icon located in the upper left of the window.
- The cursor becomes a rectangle
- Click the area of the form where you want to place the text.
- The Field Properties window will appear
- Type the desired text in the Text Field box, then select OK.
- The text field only allows for one line of text at a time
- For multiple lines, you’ll need to go through the same step multiple times
- Select the Data Field icon to link to a field used in the invoice journal, customer record, or company settings.
- The Field Properties window appears after placing the box on the form
- Select the Data Field drop-down list box to select the item you want to link.
- Xs will fill the data fields with placeholders
- The real data populates when the form is printed
- To add an image, select the Add an image icon:

- To resize elements, you can click and drag its edges.
- If you want to remove any unwanted element, right-click it, and select Remove.
- Select View, then Page Setup to change margins or paper size.
- When reducing paper size, resize or move fields and columns to fit.
- Select View, then Envelope Options to change or remove the envelope windows.
Add a company logo or image
- In Sage 50 go to Setup, Reports and Forms.
- Find the document you want to customize.
- Change Description to User-Defined.
- Your custom form displays in the Form: field.
NOTE: Click Browse to select a different custom form.
- Click Customize form.
- Select the Image icon.
- Click the image icon to add the company logo.
- Select Use company logo to use the logo in Setup, Settings, Company Logo
- Choose Insert from File, then select the Browse button to select your new image
- You can now position the logo on your form by moving boxes or resizing your image
