How to use the new Tap to Pay feature to accept payments directly on your Sage Accounting invoices using a compatible device.
Businesses can use the Sage Accounting app to accept payments with Stripe by having customers tap their payment card on the business's mobile device.
Before you start
- Link a Stripe account to your Sage Accounting business
- Enable Tap to Pay in your account
- Ensure your device supports:
- iOS: iPhone XS or later running iOS 17.4 or later
- Android: The device must have NFC, not rooted, run Android 11 or above, and have Google Mobile Services
- Post an invoice in Accounting to accept Tap to Pay payments
Access Tap to Pay on an invoice
- Open an existing invoice in your Sage Accounting mobile app.
- Select the Tap to Pay button to enable card payment for that invoice.
Payment Limits
Customers can use contactless payments for purchases up to a maximum of $250 CAD with Visa, American Express, and Mastercard, and Interac debit cards.
Complete the transaction
- Hold your customer's card to the back of your iPhone or Android device to initiate the payment.
- Follow any prompts that appear to complete the transaction.

After processing the payment, you’ll see a confirmation on your screen. The invoice status will update automatically to reflect the payment.
