How to get the Canadian Dental Care Plan values in Box 45 on the T4 and Box 15 on the T4A in Sage 50 Accounting.
As of December 2023, employers must disclose dental insurance eligibility on tax slips for employees, ex-employees, or spouses of deceased employees. This includes Health Spending Account coverage.

- Go to Employees & Payroll, then Employees.
- Double-click an employee name to open the Employee record.
- Go to the T4 and RL-1 Reporting tab.
- Select one of the five options in the Dental Insurance drop-down menu.
- No dental insurance or coverage of any kind
- Payee
- Payee, spouse, and dependent children
- Payee and their spouse
- Payee and their dependent children
- Select the Current Year or Prior Year depending on whether you’ve advanced the calendar year or not.
- Click Save and Close.

- The values will post automatically to Box 45 on the T4 and Box 15 on the T4A.
- File your T4 and T4A.
