Error: "You cannot select this employee because your payroll plan only allows..."

Using the Accountant Edition

1. Close Sage 50.
2. Right-click on the desktop icon for Sage 50 and select Run as Administrator.
3. Go to Help Upgrade Your Sage 50 Product.
4. Verify that you're using the correct Account ID and Serial Number.
5. Click OK.
6. Try entering the payroll. If the error persists, run the Database Utilities Tool.

Using Pro, Premium or Quantum

1. Close Sage 50.
2. Right-click on the desktop icon for Sage 50 and select Run as Administrator.
3. Go to Help, Upgrade Your Sage 50 Product.
4. Verify that you're using the correct Account ID and Serial Number.
5. Click OK.
6. Go to Reports, Lists, Employees.
7. Verify that you have the appropriate number of active employees for your payroll plan.
8. Make employees inactive or contact Sales at 1-888-261-9610 to purchase a higher Payroll Tier.
