Error: "The program detected problems while creating data..."

Steps to resolve the error: "The program detected problems while creating data. Please wait a few moments and then try to create it again" when creating a new company in Sage 50 Accounting.

Disable the firewall or antivirus

1. Disable antivirus and firewall to see if it's the source of the error.
2. Create a new company.

Run as administrator

1. Run Sage 50 as an administrator.
2. Select Create a new company on the Welcome screen.

Set Windows format to Canadian English

1. Open the control panel and select Region and Language.
2. In the Format drop-down menu, select English (Canada) and apply the changes.
3. Reboot the computer.

Reinstall Sage 50

1. Reinstall Sage 50.
2. Create a new company.

Verify the date format in Windows

1. Go to Control Panel, Region and Language, Format.
2. Change the format to English (Canada).
3. Try to create a company file again.
