Network connection failure after the computer has been idle

Cause

The network adapter goes to sleep to save power.

Resolution

  1. Go to Control Panel and then Device Manager.
  2. Right-click on the main network adapter and go to Properties.
  3. Go to the Power Management tab.
  4. Remove the checkmark from Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
