Step-by-step instructions on how to create backups that include specific fiscal years in Sage 50 Accounting.

Resolution

Save a copy of the file

  1. Make a backup (or Save As 'Test') of your current data file.
  2. Restore from a backup from the end of the last year that you want to include.
  3. In the file restored, click Maintenance, Clear Data, and select Clear Financial History.
  4. Select the last year that you don't want to include.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Create a backup of this file. The backup will only include the desired years.

Use a backup file

  1. Restore from a backup from the end of the desired year. For example, 2022.
  2. In the file restored, go to Maintenance, Clear Data, and select Clear Financial History.
  3. Select the year 2019. (Last year at the bottom of the list)
  4. Click OK.
  5. Create a backup of this file. The backup will only include the years 2021 and 2020.
