Summary
Why is the the fiscal year-end date option greyed out?
Cause
- Not in single-user mode.
- Posted a transaction to the next year.
- This applies only for the Premium or Quantum versions.
Resolution
Switch to single-user mode:
- Refer to article: What are the things that I cannot do while in multiuser or when other windows are open?
Sage 50 Accounting Premium and Quantum:
- You can enable posting both general journal entries or paycheques into the future year (fiscal and calendar respectively)
- This option only applies to Premium or Quantum versions 2013 or later
- Make sure that there’s no transaction posted in to a future year
- To be able to see transactions posted in the future year, you’ll have to:
- Make sure that you open the file as a user with full accounting rights.
- From the main window of Sage 50, click Reports, Journal entries or Transactions details > All...
- On the report option window, click the drop-down list beside Report on Fiscal year.
- Check if you have the Next Fiscal year showing on the list.
- If you have Next Fiscal year (20XX):
- Then you can't edit the Fiscal End date of your current fiscal year
- Workaround: you’ll have to restore from a backup before the transaction you posted in that year
