Data file formats that open with different Sage 50 editions

There are three data file formats:

• Pro Accounting
• Premium Accounting
• Quantum Accounting

There are four editions of Sage 50:

• Pro Edition
• Premium Edition
• Quantum Edition
• Accountant Edition

• Once you've upgraded the data file to a higher format, you can't open it in a lower edition of the software
• It isn’t possible to downgrade a data file to a lower format
• The Accountant Edition can open any data file format without modifying said format
