Unable to open modules, reports, windows, journals, or interfaces

Summary

Sage 50 Accounting is working properly but certain modules, reports, windows, journals, or interfaces aren’t opening or seem to be freezing.

Cause

  • Display settings, computers, or monitors have changed since the last time the company file opened
  • Windows 'Ease of Access' is enabled

Resolution

Move the window manually

  1. Hold ALT+SPACEBAR on your keyboard and a window will pop up.
  2. Use the mouse to click the word Move (or press the letter m).
  3. Press an arrow once, then move the mouse to a desired location.
  4. Left-click to release the window or press Enter.

Maximize the window

  1. Right-click on the window from the taskbar.
  2. Select Maximize.
  3. Select View, then select Restore Window.
  4. Verify that window placement is now correct.

Use Database Utilities

  1. Clear window positions with Database Utilities. 
  2. Verify that the window placement is now correct.
