How to upgrade to a higher edition of Sage 50

Steps to upgrade your version of Sage 50 Accounting to add more features.

Resolution

 NOTE: Create a backup of your data file before upgrading to a higher version.

Upgrading to Premium or Quantum

  1. Open any Sage 50 file or the sample company as sysadmin in single-user mode.
  2. Go to Help, then Upgrade your Sage 50 product.
  3. Enter the new Serial Number.
  4. Select Retrieve my Key Code from Sage 50 online and click OK.
  5. Repeat the steps on any additional computers.

Upgrading to Accountant's Edition

  1. Uninstall Sage 50.
  2. Reinstall Sage 50.
  3. Use the new serial number for the Accountant's Edition.
  4. Repeat the steps on any additional computers.

Upgrading in Accountant's Edition from Pro to Premium / Quantum or from Premium to Quantum

  1. Open any Sage 50 file or the sample company as sysadmin in single-user mode.
  2. Select Accountant Edition from the main menu.
  3. Select Upgrade Company and follow the steps.
  4. Perform these steps on all workstations.
