Summary

To resolve a data inconsistency between your debits and credits in Sage 50 Accounting, determine if your company file is in history mode.

Description

Balance Sheet report isn’t balanced
Total Debits and Total Credits don’t equal in the Data Integrity window
Retained Earnings opening balance isn’t correct

Resolution

Before you begin

Ensure all computers are on the latest version, if not download and install updates.
Make a backup of your company file.

If you are in History Mode

Select Company, then Chart of Accounts.
Once open, close the window. You'll receive a prompt to put the difference to the Retained Earnings account.
Go to Maintenance, then Check Data Integrity.
If the Total Debits and Total Credits don't equal, run the database utility on the company file.

If you aren't in History Mode

Run the database utility on your company file
