Error 00009 on Notes.btr when doing fiscal year-end close
Description

During the fiscal year-end close process, I receive this error:

  •      Function User Details
  •      File description: Notepad 
  •      File name: Notes.Btr 
  •      Status code: 000009 
  •      Error message: End of file reached. This may indicate that the file has become corrupted and needs to be repaired. 
  •      An error has occurred while trying to access data
Cause
Resolution
There are two options to resolve the issue:

Increase the number of years to retain:

  1. Restore the backup done before the year-end close.
  2. Go to Utilities, System Manager, System Setup, General Ledger, then G/L Setup.
  3. In the Years of history to retain, increase the number of years to retain.
  4. Click Apply, Click OK.

Remove some history years

  1. Restore the backup done before year-end close.
  2. Go to Utilities, System Manager, System Setup, General Ledger, then G/L Setup.
  3. Change the Years of history to retain.
  4.  EXAMPLE: If it's 10, and you want to remove 2 years, change it to 8.
  5. Click Apply.
  6. Change it back to 10.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Perform the fiscal year-end process again.
