During the fiscal year-end close process, the program displays this error:

     Function User Details
     File description: Notepad 
     File name: Notes.Btr 
     Status code: 000009 
     Error message: End of file reached. This may indicate that the file has become corrupted and needs to be repaired 
     An error has occurred while trying to access data

There are two options to resolve the issue:

Increase the number of years to retain:

1. Restore the backup done before the year-end close.
2. Go to Utilities, System Manager, System Setup, General Ledger, then G/L Setup.
3. In the Years of history to retain, increase the number of years to retain.  EXAMPLE: change it to 20. 
4. Click Apply, Click OK.

Remove some history years

1. Restore the backup done before year-end close.
2. Go to Utilities, System Manager, System Setup, General Ledger, then G/L Setup.
3. Change the Years of history to retain.
4.  EXAMPLE: If it's 10, and you want to remove two years, change it to eight. 
5. Click Apply.
6. Change it back to 10.
7. Click OK.
8. Perform the fiscal year-end process again.
9. CAUTION:

   If you remove two years, repeat this process two years later when the issue occurs again.
