I have entered paycheques for the new year without closing the payroll
Description
Cause
Resolution

If you entered the timecards for the new year before the payroll year-end close, the year-to-date (YTD) amounts will be incorrect. T4 will also be wrong.

 To resolve this:

  1. Void all the timecards for the new year.
  2. Check the Earnings tab. Ensure This Year column doesn't include the new year paycheques.
  3.  CAUTION: Make a backup of the data before performing payroll year end.
  4. Sign in as Dec 31 of the previous year, and Perform a payroll year-end.
  5. Check the Earnings tab. Confirm Last Year column shows the amount for the previous year, and This Year column is blank.
  6. Sign in the new year date. Re-enter the paycheques that you voided on step 1. Ensure the amounts and deductions match the original timecards.
