I have entered paycheques for the new year without closing the payroll

If you enter timecards or paychecks for a new year before completing payroll year-end, Sage BusinessVision updates the YTD amounts incorrectly. The issue also affects T4 information.

CAUTION:

Create a backup before following these steps.

To correct the issue:

Void all paychecks for the new year.
Open the Earnings tab.
Verify This Year column no longer includes the voided paychecks. Verify This Year amounts are correct for the previous year (2026).
Sign in using the last day of the previous payroll year. For example: 12/31/2026.
Perform the payroll year-end close.
Open the Earnings tab.
Verify that the Last Year column shows the previous year's earnings (2026).
Verify This Year column is blank.
Sign in using a date in the new year. For example: 01/01/2027.
Re-enter the paychecks that you voided in Step 1.
Verify that the earnings, taxes, and deductions match the original paychecks.
