How to remove the Reconciled status of a transaction

When are transactions reconciled?

  • When you import them through bank feeds or import them manually
  • If you reconciled the transaction via the Reconciliation window

The reconciled status can only be removed if the Reconciliation process isn’t finished and the transaction is still available in the Reconciliation window.

NOTE: Once you’ve reconciled a transaction, you may make limited changes to the reconciled transaction or delete the transaction. Refer to How to Delete a Bank Transaction.

How to Access the Reconciliation window

  1. Click the Banking tab.
  2. Click the selected bank account.
  3. In the Bank Account window, select the Reconcile hyperlink.

The reconciliation has been validated via the Finish button if the transaction isn’t listed in the Reconciliation window. In this case, you can make limited modifications or delete the transaction. 

If the transaction can be found in the Reconciliation window

  • To unreconcile a single transaction matched in error, clear the check box in the Reconciled column
  • To unreconcile all transactions at once if matched in error, hover the mouse over the Interest and Charges button, and in the dropdown menu, click Unreconcile All Entries.
