Error: " The code can't be executed..."

The error can occur with any of these dll files: 

• Sage_QIFLib.dll
• SAGE_SA_UPDCHK.dll
• SAGE_SA_FILEVER.dll
• SAGE_SA_BUS.dll

• Avast antivirus moves the installer file to quarantine
• Norton antivirus stopped the installation

When using Norton antivirus

Disable Auto-Protect and Firewall

1. Right-click the Norton icon in the taskbar.
2. Disable Auto-Protect and Smart Firewall for 10 minutes to one hour.
   
   
3. Open Norton and turn off the Advanced Security.
   
4. Reinstall Sage 50.
5. Verify that you can open Sage 50 and complete the update.
6. Open Norton and turn Auto-Protect, Smart Firewall, and Advanced Security back on.

Remove the Sage 50 file from Quarantine

1. Open Norton and select Security.
2. Click Quarantine.
3. In the History window, look for the Show dropdown menu.
4. Select Quarantine.
5. Select the Sage 50 file (SA_20262CPU1_...exe) and click the three dots (…).
6. Select Create exclusion & restore.
7. Click Restore, then OK.
8. Verify that you can open Sage 50 and complete the update.

When using Avast antivirus

Move the file out of quarantine and add it as 'exception allowed'. Contact Avast support if you need further assistance.

1. Open Avast.
2. Go to Protection, then Quarantine.
3. Locate the Sage 50 file (SA_20262CPU1_...exe).
4. Click three dots (…).
5. Select Restore and add exception.
6. Click Ok.
7. Verify that you can open Sage 50 and complete the update.
8. If you're still getting an error, uninstall and reinstall Sage 50.
