Issues with T4 form and T4 file in Sage BusinessVision program version 2023 7.93.08

Summary

This update fixes somes issues with T4 form and T4 file for 2024 year that you encounters in version 7.93.08. The new version is 7.93.08A.

Description

  • T4 Box 26: The amount in box 26 didn't include the additional maximum pensionable earnings for the year ($73,200 for 2024)
  • T4 XML totals: The <tot_empe_cpp_amt> value and <tot_empr_cpp_amt> value don't match the total of all individual slips for CPP second
  • T4 XML Transmitter Name - Transmitter names longer than 30 charaters were being written on two lines. With this update, the transmitter name will be trucated at 35 characters on the first line
  • Customer receives this message when uploading to CRA: "Reported amounts on the summary do not match calculated amounts on the slip"

Resolution

 NOTE: You can install this update overtop of any existing version of 7.93 (from 7.93.01 up to and including 7.93.08)  

 NOTE: This update includes all the previous changes in 7.93.08 

 CAUTION: Don't perform payroll year-end again if you already close the payroll. 

Follow these steps to install the new payroll update 7.93.08A:

  1. Close Sage BusinessVision program on the computer.
  2. Download new January 2023 payroll update 7.93.08A
  3. Extract the .zip file. Rightclick Payroll V7.93.08A.exe and select Run as Administrator.
  4. Follow the prompt to install. Use the same January 2025 password you have received. If you don't have the password, click the link below to chat with us.
  5. Log in the Sage BusinessVision company.
  6. Click Edit, Payroll, then T4 and T4 Summary.
  7. If the list of employees is open, close it and click No to the message "Would you like the current T4 list to be saved so that you can continue processing them later?"
  8. Click Edit, Payroll, then T4 and T4 Summary and start the T4 process again.
  9. Confirm that the new T4 forms are correct, and you are able to upload the T4 file to the CRA.
