Summary
The payroll income type identifies the source of a payroll income in Sage 50 Accounting. The type determines the Unit of Measure for a payroll income.
Description
| Income Type | Description |
| Hourly | Base rate of pay. Paid on an hourly basis. |
| Differential | An hourly rate you pay the employee beyond normal working hours, such as overtime, night-shift, or holiday. |
| Piece Rate | The pay rate depends on the number of items produced by the employee. |
| Income | Base pay rate based on regular pay periods, such as a bi-monthly cheque. |
| Benefit | Benefit paid to an employee. Reported on both T4and RL-1 forms regardless of whether you have set up Sage 50 to calculate |
Benefit (Que) | Quebec-only benefit paid to an employee. Reported on RL-1 slips only. |
| Reimbursement | Reimbursed expense, such as a car lease. |
NOTE: You can only use payroll incomes Overtime 1 & 2 as Hourly or Differential. You can't change the Regular income from Hourly.
