How to manage Cleared bank transactions

Created on  | Last modified on

Summary

How to find, edit, or delete Cleared bank transactions in Sage Accounting.

Description

Using the Cleared status

The Cleared status indicates that a bank transaction has come directly from your bank, either via a bank feed or from importing a bank statement. This status shows the transaction is on your bank statement and reflected in your bank balance. When you import transactions, we mark them as Cleared and ready to reconcile, speeding up the bank reconciliation process. You can’t manually add the Cleared status to a transaction.

Delete a cleared transaction
  1. From Banking, open the relevant bank account.

  3. On the toolbar, select the Delete icon and confirm.

You can’t delete a transaction included in a finished bank reconciliation.

Difference between Cleared and Reconciled status

A bank feed or imported statement provides cleared transactions, showing they are on your bank statement and ready for reconciliation. Verify transactions entered via Receipt or Payment options against your bank statement, as they remain uncleared.

A bank reconciliation includes reconciled transactions, confirming they match your bank account. Once reconciled, you have limited options for editing and deleting them.
