Summary

Does Financial Reporter for the Web remain in the "Processing..." state or never complete? Touchscreen devices, remote access software, or Microsoft Office issues on the server can cause this problem.

Description

When you run Print Financial Statements, the process starts but never finishes. It can happen with FR View in Financial Reporter for the Web. Sometimes, Sage 300 displays a message about an obsolete version of Office.

Cause

The following conditions can cause this issue:

  • A touchscreen-enabled device accesses the Financial Reporter for the Web.
  • Remote access software interferes with Financial Reporter processing.
  • Microsoft Office doesn't function correctly on the Sage 300 server.

Resolution

Disable touchscreen support

Turn off touchscreen functionality on every device that accesses Financial Reporter for the Web.

EXAMPLE:

If you use Remote Desktop from a touchscreen laptop, disable the touchscreen on that laptop.

 Disable the touchscreen in Windows

  1. Open Device Manager.
  2. Expand Human Interface Devices.
  3. Select HID-compliant touchscreen.
  4. Click Action, and then select Disable Device.

Use different remote access software

Use different software to connect to the server remotely. Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection doesn't cause this issue. Microsoft Remote Desktop

 client can cause this issue.

Verify Microsoft Office functionality

Open Microsoft Excel on the Sage 300 server and sign in successfully. Then verify that Excel saves workbooks correctly.
