ARCHIVED: Error: "Sage 50 cannot be installed on a computer that is running windows vista,..."

The installer for Sage 50 or the Sage 50 update is set to run in compatibility mode in an old obsolete operating system.

Method 1:

1. Download a new copy of the Sage 50 installer file that is giving the error and try to run it.
2. Verify that the software installs without error. If it does not, then follow the steps in Method 2

Method 2:

1. Locate the installer file that is giving you the error. Sage 50 saves the automatically downloaded installer files in C:\Users\Public\Documents\Sage Software\Simply Accounting\Download.
2. The installer will be named SA_20***CP1.exe for the full product or SA_20***CPUP1.exe for the product updates. The *** will be replaced with the year and release number. For example SA_20193CP1.exe for the 2019.3 release.
3. Right click on the installer file and click on properties.
4. Click on the compatibility tab.
5. Uncheck the option to run the file in compatibility mode. If you cannot, first click on the option to change settings for all users, and then uncheck the option to run in compatibility mode.
