The difference between the budgets option in the Chart of Accounts and the budget option in the Projects module in Sage 50 Accounting.

Resolution

  • The Budgets option in the Chart of Accounts allows you to set a target of an account
  • You can compare the budget amounts to your actual amounts when you run a comparative income statement
  • The example below shows the Drafting account periodic budget
    The Drafting account budget.

  • The Budget tab in the Project is for comparing the project numbers to the target project budget
  • The example below shows the Alder Subdivision project
    The Alder Subdivision project.
  • There's no correlation between these two entities
  • You can export accounts budgets to Excel or .txt
  • You can't export project budgets
