How to edit an eft file

Cause

Your bank may require a different file format than .dat

Resolution

Note: Modifying your eft file can cause it to be rejected by your bank.
If you are having submission problems after modifying the eft file please contact your banking institution for assistance.

1. find all the .dat eft files you want to combine.
2. open notepad. Do not use word, this will corrupt the file.
3. go to file > open. change the file type to all(*.*) Select the eft file you want to edit.
4. Do the same for each file if you are copying data so they are all open.
5. If copying, press ctrl + a to select all then ctrl + c to copy the data
6. in the file to have the data added press ctrl + v to paste in the data
7. repeat till all data is moved.
8. go to file > save as. change the type to all(*.*) and give the file a new relevent name. You must include the .dat extention.
