How to connect Sage 50 to a multi-user network. To make use of the multi-user functionality you need to have a minimum of 2 user premium
- Setup and share data between two or more computers
Setup server computer
- Decide what computer you want to be your server.
- Install Sage on that computer.
- There are two install options you can choose from, typical or advanced.
- Typical Installation installs the full Sage 50 program, use this option if you are going to be sitting at this computer and entering data
- Advanced Installation (SERVER ONLY): Choose this option if you will be using the server computer to store your data only
Share your data
- Decide which computer is going to hold your company files.
- Share the folder which holds your company files.

Connecting your data on your server
Now that you have chosen your server computer and shared your data folder, you will need to connect to your server computer.
- From the server, go to start and type CMD press Enter.
- At the black DOS screen type hostname press Enter.
- This is the name of your computer. Write this name down, you will need this in the next step.
- On your non-server computer, go to start and type \\yourcomputername press Enter.
- A screen will open up, with yellow folders. One of those folders is the folder you shared when following the steps outlined above.
- Share your data: Right-click that folder and choose Map network drive.
- Choose any available drive letter and press Finish.
