Error: "This company has been converted to Sage 50 Quantum / Premium Accounting..."

Summary

When I open my company file, I get an error: "This company has been converted to Sage 50 Quantum / Premium Accounting. You can no longer open it with this version of Sage 50".

Cause

  • Opening the company file in a lower version (for example, opening a Premium file in Pro)
  • The program is damaged

Resolution

  1. Verify that you’ve installed the correct version of Sage 50 by clicking once on the icon on your desktop.
  2. If you have the wrong version, uninstall it and install the correct version.
     NOTE: If you’re using Sage 50 Pro and you open a file that is in the Premium or Quantum version, you’ll need to uninstall Sage 50 and reinstall Sage 50 using your new Sage 50 Premium of Quantum license.
  3. If you’ve upgraded your Sage 50 (for example, from the Sage 50 Premium to the Sage 50 Quantum), open the sample company on each computer and go to Help, Upgrade Your Sage 50 Product, and key in the new serial number.
  4. Once you’ve installed or opened the correct version, try opening your file again.
