Summary

Error: "This company has been converted to Sage 50 Quantum / Premium Accounting. You can no longer open it with this version of Sage 50". The error occurs when opening a Sage 50 Accounting data file.

Cause

  • Opening the company file in a lower edition (for example, opening a Premium file in Pro)
  • The program is damaged

Resolution

  1. Click once on the Sage 50 icon on your desktop.
  2. Verify that you’ve installed the correct edition of Sage 50.
  3. If you have the wrong edition, upgrade to the correct edition.
     NOTE: If you’re using Sage 50 Pro, upgrade to Premium of Quantum to open the file. Downgrading a file to a lower edition isn't possible.
  4. Once you’ve upgraded or opened the correct edition, try opening your file again.
