How to create an inventory item

Use the Inventory & Services module in Sage 50 Accounting to create your inventory items.

Select Inventory & Services module.
- Enhanced View, right-click Inventory & Services icon and then go to step 2
- Classic View, left-click Inventory & Services icon, click File, Create, and go to step 3
Select Add Inventory & Service.
For the Type, select Inventory.
Enter the Item Number and Description. Try to shorten the item number / description as much as possible. You could encounter errors when importing or exporting inventory or price lists.
Select the Units tab, then enter Stocking Unit of Measure.
Select the Linked tab, enter an Asset account, a Revenue account, and a COGS account.
Enter any other information needed on the Additional Info tab.
Select Save and Close.
