Program will not print after upgrading

Summary

After the Sage 50 Update (or Windows Update or both), there is an unhandled exception error when trying to email. "Unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. Could not load file or assembly 'acPDFCreatorLib.Net.dll' or one of its dependencies. The specified module is not found."

Description

Note: You need to install the 32-bit version (the one that ends in (x86).

Cause

  • Wrong printer selected for the form
  • A font (usually Arial) is not properly registered
  • The PDF creator library is missing or not registered in Microsoft Windows
  • Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 (x86) is not installed. (Note: This is the 32-bit version)
  • Form directory not present
  • Form directory is incorrect

Resolution

Method 1:

  1. Select Setup, then Reports & Forms.
  2. Select the problem form.
  3. Select the correct printer from the drop-down list in the Printer: field.
  4. Select OK.

Method 2:

Download and install the European Union Expansion Font Update from Microsoft.

Method 3:

  1. Select Windows Start, Control Panel, Program and Features (Windows Vista, 7 or 8) check that Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 (x86), is installed.
  2. Manually download and install Download and install Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 from Microsoft.
  3. Reboot your computer.

Note: For Sage 50 2016, please verify if both Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 and 2013 32-bit is installed.
