Created on  | Last modified on

Cause

  • The calendar year of the data file has already been closed and this conflicts with the fiscal end date that you want.

Resolution

  • In this circumstance, the Fiscal End date must be later than the Calendar End date (12/31/20XX) when a calendar year end has been created.

Workaround I: Restore a backup that does not have the calendar year advanced

  1. Make backup of your current data.
  2. Locate a backup where you did not advance the calendar year.
  3. Change the Fiscal End date to your liking.
  4. Re-post any transactions missing since the restored backup.
  5. Proceed as normal using this data file.

Workaround II: Change the fiscal end date in the next calendar year

  1. Change the fiscal end date in the next calendar year.
  2. Advance to new fiscal year with the fiscal start date 1/2/20XX. (e.g. 1/2/2014).
  3. The fiscal end date of the new fiscal year will be 1/1/20XX of next year. (e.g. 1/1/2015).
  4. Click Setup, Settings, Company, Information.
  5. Change fiscal end date from 1/1/20XX to 12/31/20XX. (e.g. 1/1/2015 to 12/31/2014).
