Error: "Unhandled Exception [...]" when creating a purchase invoice

Summary

When doing a purchase invoice, I get the error "Unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. Index was outside the bounds of array" This event occurs after upgrading from SA 2010 or prior When I click Details, I see some messages about sales taxes as seen here: Happens when running purchase order report and double click on an invoice to open it. Happens when click lookup icon in purchase order journal. Trying to lookup a purchase invoice / purchase order

Cause

  • Sales taxes are not set up properly

Resolution

  • Verify the tax codes are set up properly. Refer to KB 10530 "How to update sales tax codes manually" in Related resources.
  • If you don't use Sales taxes, go to the Taxes tab in the Vendor record, and switch tax code to No Tax. Do this for all vendors and try saving the purchase invoice again.
