Summary

How to resolve the error: "Another version of the product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue. To configure or remove the existing version of this product, use Add/Remove Programs on the Control Panel" when installing Sage 50 Accounting.

Description

Cause

  • The program is already installed
  • Sometimes the error comes up for no reason

Resolution

Run the Sage 50 icon

  1. Check the desktop and locate the Sage 50 Accounting icon.
  2. Double-click the icon to start the program.

Run the previous update first

For example, even though 2020.2 is available, run 2020.1 first, then check for updates to get the 2020.2 upgrade after upgrading to 2020.1.

Reinstall

  1. Uninstall Sage 50.
  2. Install Sage 50 using the appropriate download from Sage 50: Download Portal.
