ARCHIVED: Error: "Another version of this product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue..." when installing a full version of Sage 50

• This error message is caused to a previous installation that did not complete successfully or a corrupt installation of Sage 50 Canadian Edition on the computer
• Customer performed an automatic upgrade before receiving an email from Sales.Trying to upgrade a version that is already current.

Method 1: I want to do an automatic update

1. Cancel the installation of this higher version
2. Start Sage 50
3. Click Help, Check for Product Updates
4. Follow the instructions to install the actual product update (not the full version)

Method 2: My automatic update failed

1. Cancel the installation of this higher version
2. Follow the article in Related Resources (below) on how to do a product update manually

Method 3: I am trying to repair my current installation

1. Navigate to Control Panel, Programs and Features
2. Uninstall your current version of Sage 50 Accounting
3. Reinstall Sage 50 Accounting (See Related Resources for more information)

Method 4: I am trying to install Sage 50 but I can't uninstall or reinstall Sage 50

Method 5: Download and install a slightly different version than was previously installed

1. Download either a 2021.0 or 2021.1 installer for example.

Method 6: Upgrading a version that has already automatically update

1. Verified that the customer can do payroll. They are already on the most current release. No need to attempt to upgrade.

Method 7: Missing Sage 50 program shorcuts

1. Open file explorer
2. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage 50 Accountant Edition Version xxxx
3. Right click on Sage50Accounting.exe if found and send to desktop to create shorcut
