How do I create a new full account in General Ledger?

Summary

How to create a new full account in Sage 300 CRE General Ledger for a new company or prefix.

Resolution

Your account structure doesn't use prefixes

  1. From the Setup menu, select Accounts.
  2. Enter the new Account number and Title, then press the ENTER key.
  3. Select the appropriate Account Type and other settings.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Click Close to exit.

Your account structure uses prefixes

  1. Set up the prefix, if needed.
  2. Verify if the base account already exists in Setup, Prefix/Base, Base Accounts. Create the base account, if needed.
  3. Once you set up the prefix and base account, go to Setup, Generate Accounts.
  4. Select the base account, then click OK.
  5. Select the prefixes you want to combine with the base account, then click OK.
  6. Click Start.
  7. The process is quick and there's no journal that prints. You can confirm the account was created in Setup, Accounts or Reports, Lists, Chart of Accounts.
