I can't change the Fiscal Start date

Summary

Why can I not change the Fiscal Start date under Setup, Settings, Company, Information? The Fiscal Start field is greyed out. I’ve misconfigured the oldest / earliest transaction date and I need to change it.

Cause

Once your company is past its first year, it’s no longer possible to change the Fiscal Start date field

Resolution

Workaround:

  1. Consider changing the Fiscal End date so that next fiscal year has the correct Fiscal Start date.
  2. If this is not an option, create a new company with the correct Fiscal Start date.
